Hello!  Thank you for being proactive with questions in regards to WRHS’s academic school year.  I want to assure you that we will be doing everything in our power to make sure that your student has a productive school year.  August 6th is the district start date, the start of our school will be a slow integration for students as they learn and develop the skills necessary to continuously improve and grow this school year.  Laptops will be distributed to students as we receive them from the district IT department.  We completely understand the frustration with not having the necessary tools (laptop)available beginning August 6th.   We do want to reassure you though that your student will not fall behind.  We are planning to have students practice navigating the website with a Scavenger Hunt.  Students will also be taking a pre-test in core subjects as a way to scaffold their introduction back to school.  The pre-test will be available on-line and we will also have them available as a packet.  The packets can be picked up at the front of the high school in the bus loop area.  Packets can also be picked up at bus stops.  Bus stop loops are posted on the school website.  The buses will be leaving around 9:30 to deliver food and packets.  We will have 20 packets of every pre-test on each bus.  If you do not get one on the 6th, we will have more on the bus on the 7th

Finally on August 11th, we will open access to our APEX program and allow students to practice using this program with an Accuplacer tutorial.  We will work with students and parents all through until August 14th in the hopes of monitoring student needs.

We will not hold lack of technology against the students.  We will work with everyone until they have the capability of performing remote learning.  Please do not stress. We will work through this together for the success of your student.
