Window Rock Unified School District #8 and its Governing Board recognize the existence of circumstances under which non-job-related, seriously incapacitating, and extended illnesses and injury may exhaust accrued leave of certified and support staff members as described in the following paragraphs. It is considered a benefit to the district to establish a sick leave bank because it will reduce annual accrued sick leave and promote efficiency by ensuring constant service.
