To get my K-12 education, I attended four different states and numerous schools. Perhaps that is why I've taught 21 years at Window Rock High School, in the same classroom, B29. In addition, I'm uncertain of the name of the high school I graduated from; however, I can recall my post-secondary education well. I attended Brigham Young University where I studied English Literature. Later I attended the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College in Vermont, where I completed my MA English Literature. Very fortunately, I studied on various campuses in different states, Vermont, New Mexico, Alaska, and Oxford England to earn my graduate degree.
This fine program allowed me to study the broad spectrum of English literature. My favorites are Renaissance, Victorian, and American lit. I enjoy learning so much that I decided to study creative writing in my MLitt program.
I've been fortunate to have a strong English base that I apply to my classrooms. Literature remains one of my favorite topics.
I hope I will continue to bring that same enthusiasm to my students and teaching.
