  • WRUSD Faculty, Staff, Parents and Community Stakeholders,

This week marks the end of School Year 18-19, and we begin planning for the next school year.  Previously on April 3, 2019, District Calendar Option B with modifications was approved.  The District participated in a monitoring visit by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) at the end of April 2019.   Strong recommendations from ADE regarding our embedded professional development days and the impact it will have on our current School Improvement Plan and funding was cited to be in jeopardy without professional development.  The Governing Board moved to re-consider and approved District Calendar Option A (attached) on May 18, 2019 special board meeting.

The Governing Board President Kee-Billison, Member Ms. Benally, and Member Mr. Stewart, Jr. and Administration expressed their commitment to address the ADE recommendations for school improvement through their recommended plan of action in delivery of quality education for all our students. Together, we can move forward.

    Thank you.

    Dr. Leon Ben, Interim Superintendent
